FAQ's

1. Do you offer tutoring services?

No, we do not provide traditional tutoring. Instead, we focus on enhancing students' executive functioning skills and empowering them to advocate for themselves.

2. How does your program differ from therapy?

Therapy often involves exploring past experiences to identify the root causes of current issues. At Wanderlight Pathways, we take a forward-looking approach by helping students develop routines, self-reflection habits, and behavior modification strategies. While we do not provide therapy, we collaborate with therapists when appropriate.

3. How can I assess if my child is benefiting from Wanderlight Pathways?

Success in our program looks different from traditional academic improvements. Indicators that your child is benefiting include:

  • Developing a meaningful connection with their mentor
  • Implementing the guidance provided
  • Consistently completing accountability assignments and maintaining regular journaling practices

Our program is grounded in research-based practices aimed at fostering student success. If parents would like references to these studies, we are happy to provide resources upon request.

4. What is the Leadership Project?

The Leadership Project empowers students to identify a cause they are passionate about, develop a solution, and demonstrate leadership through implementation. This initiative has been successfully executed in various schools, yielding positive results.

5. Is the Leadership Project challenging?

Yes, this project challenges students to manage their time, stay organized, and communicate effectively—key skills they’ll use throughout life. Procrastination is a common hurdle, but this is part of the learning process. Our mentors provide accountability and guidance to help students navigate challenges successfully.

6. Do you guarantee admission to a student’s college of choice?

No, we cannot guarantee admission to a specific college. However, we help students stand out among applicants by fostering personal growth, extracurricular involvement, and success in a rigorous academic course load.
