I absolutely loved high school, both as a student and a teacher. Adolescents aged 14-18 are at such a crucial stage in their lives; they have many questions, though many go unasked. They are curious, passionate, and, most importantly, they make me laugh.
Personal Interests and Passions
My wife and I live in Vernon Hills with our two fantastic kids, Caden and Mackenzie, both of whom are in high school, and our incredibly loving dog.
Outside of mentoring students, I have a deep love for birdwatching, which has taken me across the state, country, and world in search of new species. So far, I’ve seen over 900 species, but with 10,958 out there, I still have plenty more to discover!
I’m also passionate about working with my hands and enjoy being resourceful and creative. I spend much of my free time in my woodworking shop, primarily turning handmade pens that I sell. It is a craft that pairs perfectly with my other hobby: calligraphy.
In the evenings, if I’m not playing chess or Clash of Clans, I’m likely practicing, teaching, or refining the art of calligraphy—because there's always something new to learn in the world of beautiful writing.
